伝統を紡ぎ出す地域の力
大森創作太鼓旭ケ浦は1994年春、公民館活動の一つとして誕生した。
「若者が地元に根付くようにと、サークル的に始まりました。」
創設時から活動している代表の佐々木和也さんは振り返る。
当初は山から切り出した木をバチにし、古タイヤを叩いていたという。
大森地区は、1960年のチリ地震津波で大きな被害を受けた。
津波からの復興をレパートリーにしようと、仙台の「ほうねん座」に作曲と和太鼓指導を依頼した。
週2回ずつ稽古を重ねた。本物の太鼓もそろい、結成の翌年、夏祭り会場で『津波復興太鼓』は
お披露目の時を迎えた。まるで家族のようにひとつになって、練習してきた太鼓である。
「和太鼓は、打ち手と聞き手が一つになります。拍手喝さいを浴び、嬉しかったですね。」
その後も町内のイベントなどで発表しながら活動を続け、2001年の宮城国体会場では
新曲を披露した。子どもたちも参加するようになり、仲間の輪は広がった。
太鼓を通して、結束もますます強くなっていった。通算1500回目の練習を数えたころ、
新たなレパートリーに挑戦し始めた。
そんな時、東日本大震災が町を襲った。太鼓はすべて流され、ほとんどのメンバーが家を失ってしまった。
震災直後の5月、支援団体から太鼓が寄贈された。さらに、人気グループのエグザイルからの競演依頼が
舞い込んだ。再結成の時がきたのだ。同年9月、『津波復興太鼓』が被災地に響きわたった。
打ち繋いできたこの演目で、被災地を元気づけようとの思いが炸裂した。
現在は園児から60代まで25名ほどが、月に何度かの稽古に励んでいる。
「仲間は家族そのもの。またこうして集まる機会を与えていただき、感謝するばかりです。」
と、佐々木さんは語る。
二度の津波からの復興を鼓舞してきた。『家族』の絆が、ふるさとの未来へ、力強い音色を伝えていく。

軽快に滑り出す小太鼓の音色。
やがて、ドンドン！ドン！と
ふるさとへの思いをのせて
長胴太鼓の響きが力強くうねり出す。
大森創作太鼓旭ケ浦は17年間、
『津波復興太鼓』を主要演目に活動を続けてきた。
昭和35年のチリ地震津波からの復興を思い、
創られた曲だった。
その曲はくしくも東日本大震災を乗り越えるため
新たな未来を拓く力を
南三陸の人たちの心に
わきたたせるためのかけがえのない曲になった。

“Asahigaura,”a drum group of Omori Sosaku Daiko
was established in the spring of 1994.
The Omori district was heavily damaged by the huge
tsunami caused by the Great Chilean Earthquake of
1960. Thus, some of the people in the district created
and performed the “Tsunami Fukko Daiko” (Beating a
drum for recovery from tsunami damage), in a strong
spirit of unity.
“Drummers and the audience become as one in a
Japanese drum performance. At our first performance,
we received applause and it was a wonderful feeling,”
Mr. Kazuya Sasaki, the leader of the group, recalls.
Children also began to participate and the circle of
members expanded.
Then the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011 struck
the town. All the drums were washed away by the
tsunami, and almost all of the members lost their
houses.
Two months after the disaster, a support group donated
drums to the group. EXILE, a popular Japanese vocal
and dance unit, invited the drum group to perform with
them. It was time to regroup. In September 2011, the
“Tsunami Fukko Daiko” sounded once again through
the disaster-stricken area. The group dynamically
demonstrated their strong desire to cheer up the
disaster-stricken areas with their drum performance that
has continued to date.
At present, 25 members made up of various age groups,
including kindergarteners to people in their 60’s,
practice several times per month.
The bond among members of the community has
prompted its recovery from the two huge tsunami
which devastated the town in the past. With this strong
spirit of unity, the town faces a bright future.
