喜んでもらえることが私の喜び

南三陸町では、民泊を楽しむことができる。
南三陸の暮らしの中にとけ込んで、一緒に食事を作ったり、
農作業や酪農体験をする非日常を楽しめる。

阿部高枝さんも震災前から、民泊を受け入れてきた一人だ。
阿部さんの家は山間の入谷地区にある。
家業は建設業で息子さん夫婦と4人の孫と暮らしている。

阿部家に泊まったお客さんには大家族の夕食作りを手伝ってもらう。
定番メニューは、郷土料理のはっと汁作りだ。本来は小麦粉だけで作る「はっと」だが、
阿部家では、そば粉も入れる。
一緒に材料を切ったり、寝かせておいた「はっと」の生地をちぎって鍋に入れたり、
台所では歓声が絶えない。
大皿に盛りつけた料理をみんなで一緒に食べると、すっかり家族の一員だ。
4人の孫たちは、大のお客さん好き。同世代の子どもたちが泊まりに来ると、一緒にお風呂に入ったりすることもある。

中学生には、畑仕事や花植えなども体験してもらう。
宿泊した子どもたちの親から、感謝の手紙が届くとうれしい。
田舎暮らしを体験した子どもたちが、故郷のように我が家を思い出してくれると思うと民泊を受け入れてよかったと思う。

阿部さんは、宮崎県椎葉村の生まれだ。震災で亡くなったご主人とは東京で知り合った。
12年暮らした東京から、義母が亡くなったのをきっかけに南三陸に移り住んだ。
ひとり暮らしの義父のために、東京で仕事をするご主人を置いて子どもたちと引っ越したのだ。
ご主人が帰ったのはその2年後。二人で起業し、トビと土木工事を専門とする建築業を日々4時起きの夫婦付随で続けて来た。
今は、息子さんがその家業を立派に受け継いでいる。

南三陸町には、今、宮崎をはじめ九州から、役場職員が応援に来ている。
阿部さんは彼らを招き、心づくしの料理でもてなす。
彼らが帰った後、九州のあちこちから名物が届く。震災後、はるかに遠かった故郷が近くなった。

「人に喜んでいただくことが大好きです。遠来の人には、つい、何かしてあげたくなっちゃうんです。」

民泊のお客様に泊まっていただく日当たりが良い和室。

Takae Abe

You can experience staying at a private residence in
Minamisanriku. You can blend into the local life of
Minamisanriku, and enjoy the extraordinary experience
of farming, fishing, and dairy farming.
Ms. Takae Abe has accepted guests into her home from
before the disaster. Her house is located in a
mountainous area of the Iriya istrict. The main family
business is construction. She lives with her son, his
wife, and four grandchildren.
Guests participate in preparing dinner. When eating
from a large platter shared together with the family, the
guest feels like a real member of the family. “I’d be glad
if our guests remember us from time to time like they
fondly remember their hometown,” she thinks.
Takae was born in Shiiba Village in Miyazaki, Kyushu.
She met her husband, who passed away in the disaster,
in Tokyo. After living for 12 years in Tokyo, she moved
to Minamisanriku when her husband’s mother passed
away.
In Minamisanriku, some members of the municipal
office staff have come from Kyushu, including
Miyazaki, to lend their support, and this support still
continues. Takae invited them to her house and treated
them to hearty dishes. After they went back to Kyushu,
they sent her and her family special products from
various parts of Kyushu. Therefore, she felt that her
hometown, which had seemed a distant place for many
years, became closer to her after the disaster.
“I love making people happy. I especially like to do
things for people who have come from far away.”
